Welcome to Birkhill ( By Linlithgow ) Home to Hideaway Lodges & The Wheelhouse
Standing among the broad leaved trees that line the Avon Gorge, these beautifully furnished lodges offer the perfect base for exploring the unspoilt beauty of the Gorge and its wildlife, including deer, trout and otters.
Set 3 miles from civilization, the only disturbance you might encounter will be the sound of birds tweeting, trout jumping out of the river or the sound of the gorgeous steam train that passes twice a day.
Being located by Linlithgow ( Birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots ), you are just a short drive away from an Historic Scottish Royal Burgh which has an idyllic Palace sitting on the banks of a gorgeous Loch. It is also well connected being just a short train journey to Edinburgh to the East and Glasgow to the West, with trains running every 20 minutes in either direction.
Other attractions in Linlithgow include the cobbled streets with many fine eating establishments, a canal and many local shops with gifts.
Further afield there is Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow all within a short 30 minute drive and the magnificent Forth Rail and Road Bridges going over the River Forth.
"The owners were very helpful and kind. The cottage was clean and spacious. Nice long walks are great and lovely local places take your breath away. I will be coming back again soon with my girlfriend. Ross Edwards.
"Loved this nice quiet place. Very clean lodge. Booked again for next year! Jane Abbott
