Birkhill Estate, is located about 3 miles away from the nearest town Linlithgow, which is a Royal Burgh most notably known being The Birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots and having the magnificent Palace and Loch. With it's unique shops it has everything, with many fine dining establishments and tearooms where you can sample some of the local delicatessen.
There are other attractions to be found locally such as St Michael's Parish Church and the union canal, and a local distillery. It is also within easy reach of many National Trust properties such as the House of Binns and Hopetown House. Overlooking the River Forth, you can visit the Rail and Road Bridges, and you are only a 20 minute drive away from Fife. Not forgetting the Kelpies & Falkirk wheel are only a 15 minute drive away also.
Linlithgow also has the train link on the main line between Glasgow and Edinburgh so trains run frequently in either direction everyday.
In short Hideaway Lodges / Wheelhouse is far enough away for the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday stress, but ideally situated close enough for day trips and sightseeing. We are very welcoming, and hope you decide to visit us soon.
